Acceptance
By downloading, installing, purchasing, or using Director, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use Director. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your country.
The product
Director is a macOS application for organizing and running coding agents against projects on your Mac. Director is a coordination tool: you remain responsible for reviewing agent output, commands, file changes, commits, pull requests, and any other action performed through the app.
License and purchases
Director grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app under these terms. The free version is subject to the limits shown in the app and on the website. A paid license unlocks the advertised features and may be used for personal or commercial work on the number of devices included with your purchase.
Purchases, receipts, taxes, refunds, and license delivery are handled by Polar as merchant of record and are also subject to Polar's Checkout Buyer Terms. Prices and included features may change for future purchases, but a change will not retroactively alter a completed one-time purchase.
Your projects and accounts
You keep ownership of your code, prompts, files, and other content. You represent that you have permission to use the projects, credentials, accounts, and third-party services you connect to Director. You are responsible for backups and for protecting access to your Mac, repositories, and service credentials.
Connected services
Director can work with services such as Codex and OpenAI, GitHub, Linear, Polar, speech-to-text providers, plugins, and other tools you enable. Those services are independent from Director Support and are governed by their own terms, availability, pricing, usage limits, and privacy practices. Director Support is not responsible for a third-party service or for changes that service makes.
Acceptable use
You may not use Director to:
- break the law or infringe another person's rights;
- gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, repositories, or data;
- bypass licensing, device limits, security measures, or service restrictions;
- redistribute, sublicense, rent, or sell the app or a license key;
- reverse engineer the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
Updates and availability
Director may receive automatic or optional updates. Features can change as macOS, Codex, connected services, and their APIs evolve. We may suspend access to downloads, updates, or online services to maintain security, comply with law, or address abuse. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every tool, repository, or future operating-system version.
Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Director is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that generated code and automated actions will be correct, secure, or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Director Support will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption. Director Support's total liability arising from Director will not exceed the amount you paid for Director during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.
Termination
You may stop using Director at any time. Director Support may terminate or suspend your license if you materially breach these terms. On termination, you must stop using paid features and delete copies you are no longer authorized to use. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms when the product or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows the latest revision. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
